The ingredients needed to make Tripe in garlic and soy sauce:
  1. Take 500 g tripe washed
  2. Make ready 1 bulb garlic lightly crushed
  3. Make ready 1 onion diced
  4. Prepare 1 quarter cup soy (dark)
  5. Make ready 3 TBS vinegar
  6. Get 1 TBS sugar
  7. Get 3 bay leaves
  8. Get 2 cups water or enough to cook your tripe
  9. Take 1 teaspoon black pepper

Light soy sauce is used for enhancing the flavor of any dish. But light soy sauce alone can be very strong and salty, but adding a little dark Chinese and Taiwanese people usually use dark soy sauce in stew types of dishes, like red-braised pork. Remove from the heat and stir in the garlic. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, sambal oelek, oyster sauce, ginger and sesame oil; set aside.

Instructions to make Tripe in garlic and soy sauce:
  1. In a large bowl marinade tripe in soy sauce, vinegar, onion, garli, black pepper, bay leaves and sugar. Mix well and let it sit covered overnight in a fridge or a minimum of 3 hrs
  2. Pour your marinated tripe in a pan, pour water and bring it to a boil. When it has started boiling lower your flame to low, cover and let it simmer until cooked to your desired tenderness and the liquid has thicken and reduced.
  3. Sever while hot with your ugali.

Remove from the heat and stir in the garlic. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, sambal oelek, oyster sauce, ginger and sesame oil; set aside. I made this for our Asian cuisine themed Thanksgiving this year. Very flavorful, I added extra soy and oyster sauce per taste but other than that I stuck to. Classic exotic hoisin and savory garlic flavors.
